Horizon of Khufu: Journey in Ancient Egypt opens in Singapore from 2 October 2026, bringing its large-scale virtual reality expedition to GROUNDSEESAW Singapore at Parkview Square. The experience has already welcomed more than 2.5 million visitors worldwide.

Put on a VR headset and suddenly, present-day Singapore disappears. Instead of simply looking at Ancient Egypt through a screen, you’ll be able to move freely through a virtual recreation of the Great Pyramid of Giza, explore mysterious corridors and enter spaces normally inaccessible to visitors.

Step 4,500 Years Back Into Ancient Egypt 🇪🇬

This isn’t your typical museum exhibition. Horizon of Khufu is designed as a free-roaming immersive expedition, allowing visitors to physically move around the space while exploring Ancient Egypt through virtual reality.

The full experience lasts approximately one hour, including around 45 minutes of immersive walking.

During the journey, you’ll venture through the Great Pyramid, uncover the mysteries surrounding the Queen’s Chamber, encounter the Egyptian goddess Bastet, and witness scenes inspired by life and rituals during Egypt’s Fourth Dynasty.

One particularly fascinating part of the experience takes visitors back to the era of Pharaoh Khufu, offering a virtual interpretation of ancient Egyptian ceremonies and the world surrounding the construction of one of history’s most famous monuments.

Explore the Great Pyramid Without Leaving Singapore

What makes this experience particularly interesting is its scale.

Rather than staying in one spot with a conventional VR headset, visitors can walk freely through the virtual environment, making the pyramid feel like a space you’re actually exploring.

Expect hidden passageways, enormous chambers and recreated Ancient Egyptian environments as the story unfolds around you.

For history lovers, the experience also has an academic connection: it was developed in collaboration with Peter Der Manuelian, Professor of Egyptology at Harvard University.

An Immersive Experience for Families Too

Despite its adventurous premise, Horizon of Khufu isn’t designed purely as a thrill attraction. It combines entertainment with history, making it an option for families, couples and anyone curious about Ancient Egypt.

The experience is suitable for visitors aged 8 and above, although guests aged 8 to 15 must be accompanied by an adult.
